Technology has become integral to the lives of children and young people in today’s world, both within schools and in their lives outside school. The internet and other digital information and communications technologies are powerful tools, which open up new opportunities for everyone. These technologies can stimulate discussion, promote creativity and stimulate awareness of context to promote effective learning. Young people should have an entitlement to safe online access at all times.
E-Safety encompasses online technologies and electronic communications such as mobile phones and wireless devices. It highlights the need to educate children and young people about the benefits and risks of being online and provides awareness for users to enable them to control their online behaviour and digital footprint.
At Mallard Primary School we want to help our parents and children improve their own understanding of e-safety issues so they can learn to use the internet and all digital media in a safe way without taking unnecessary risks.
