Sport in the curriculum

We see the physical development of all our children as important as the education of the whole child and therefore place great importance on PE and Games. In Foundation Stage we have specially designed outdoor equipment to enable our younger children in their physical development. In year one to year six each child spends at least two hours per week on physical activities. Children work co-operatively and competitively in a range of physical activities. As a whole school, we use ‘The Val Sabin’ Scheme of work to ensure progression of skills as the children move through school. Our PE curriculum includes dance, gymnastics, team games, ball skills, football, hockey. netball, tag rugby, athletics, running, swimming, cricket and rounders. We currently hold the ‘Sainsburies School Games Award, Bronze and Silver Level.’
